After 36 days offline, Beckett restored certificate lookup, accounts, online submissions and pop reports on October 15, 2026. Price guides, the marketplace and authentication submissions are still waiting on later phases.

In short
Beckett's Phase 1 restore went live on October 15, 2026: BGS and BAS certificate lookup, customer accounts, the Online Submission Center (card grading, US and EU) and Population Reports. If you put a BGS purchase on hold because you could not check the cert, you can check it now. Phase 2 and Phase 3 services have no dates yet.
What came back on October 15
Beckett's Tech Updates page says Phase 1 of its digital service restoration is underway and lists these services as available:
- Customer Accounts
- Online Submission Center (Card Grading, US & EU)
- Population Reports
- Card Grading (BGS) Certificate Lookup
- Autograph Authentication (BAS) Certificate Lookup
We opened the Beckett Graded Card Lookup on October 16 and it served the live Verify Cert Number form, and beckett.com now loads the regular site instead of the maintenance page. Beckett says additional services will return in phases as testing is completed.

What is still offline
Beckett's October 2 update laid out three phases. Phase 1 is the one that returned. The rest are still pending, with no dates attached:
| Phase | Services | Status (Oct 16, 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Phase 1 | Accounts, Online Submission Center, cert lookup, pop reports | Available since Oct 15 |
| Phase 2 | Online Price Guide, Marketplace, Dealer Admin portals | No date given |
| Phase 3 | Beckett Authentication Services, mobile app updates | No date given |
The Online Submission Center is back, but we have not confirmed which card grading tiers are taking new orders through it. Before the restore, Beckett had paused Base and Standard and kept Express open on a temporary form, as our Beckett grading guide recorded. Check the tier you want in the submission center before you pack cards.
How long Beckett was down
Beckett's maintenance notice took all Beckett websites and the mobile app offline from 7:00 p.m. Central Time on September 9, 2026, as quoted by Walkouts and Cardboard Journal. That notice is no longer online. Counting to the October 15 restore, the cert lookup and the rest of Phase 1 were unavailable for 36 days. Card grading submissions reopened on September 15 through a temporary form while the site stayed down, per Card Grading News.
You may see October 2 cited as the start date. That is the date of Beckett's statement on the cause, not the day the platforms went offline.

Why it went down
For the first three weeks Beckett described the outage as infrastructure enhancements. In its October 2 update, Beckett said: “During planned updates to modernize our legacy IT systems, we detected suspicious technical activity and, out of caution, took our platforms offline.” It said the long downtime reflects a forensic investigation with outside security experts.
Beckett says that investigation “has not identified any evidence that sensitive customer information was impacted,” and that core certification, grade records and historical population databases “remain intact and uncompromised.” Beckett has not said publicly what the suspicious activity was or who was behind it, so we are not going to guess. It does recommend strong, unique passwords and two-factor authentication where available, which is worth acting on now that accounts are back.
What to do now
- Verify any BGS slab you bought or held during the outage. Run the cert in the official lookup and match the card, grade and label. Our guide to verifying a Beckett BGS cert number walks through it.
- Save a dated capture of the result. This outage showed that an online record can go dark for weeks.
- Update your Beckett password. Beckett recommends a strong, unique password and two-factor authentication where available.
- Confirm tier availability before shipping. See our temporary-form guide and outage checklist for how submissions worked while the site was down.
Pre-screen raw cards before you submit
If the restore has you planning a new BGS submission, CardGrade takes photos of a raw card and returns notes on visible centering, corners, edges and surface so you can decide what is worth sending. It is a photo-based pre-screen, not an official grade, authentication or appraisal, and CardGrade is not affiliated with PSA, BGS, CGC, SGC or TAG. Try a pre-screen
What we could not confirm
- The exact time on October 15 that Phase 1 went live. Beckett's update gives the date only.
- Which grading tiers are open for new orders in the restored submission center.
- What the suspicious technical activity was. Beckett has not said.
- Dates for Phase 2 and Phase 3.
