Open Beckett's official Card Lookup, then compare the returned record with the BGS holder in hand. A matching record is a useful cross-check, not a standalone authentication result.
Not a BGS card? Try our universal cert lookup.
A BGS cert lookup checks a certification number against Beckett's official record. Use the result to compare the card description, overall grade, and any visible subgrades with the holder and card you are considering.
Beckett evaluates centering, corners, edges, and surface. Its current services include both visible-subgrade and no-subgrade options, so do not assume every BGS holder shows four subgrades. The official record should align with the specific holder in hand.
A matching record cannot by itself prove that a physical holder is genuine. Compare all visible details and pause a transaction when there is a material conflict. For value, compare recent completed sales for the exact card, grade, label version, and venue instead of treating the cert record as a price estimate.

Compare the card description, overall grade, and any visible subgrades with Beckett's official result. Recheck the number before drawing a conclusion.
Copy the number exactly, then try Beckett's official Card Lookup again. A failed lookup alone is not a final authenticity conclusion.
Beckett says new labels have a QR code. If one is present, it should lead to an expected Beckett destination; use the direct lookup as a second check.
Visible gaps, damage, or signs of opening are reasons to ask for clearer photos, a return option, or an in-person review before purchasing.
Ask for clear photos of the card, both sides of the holder, and all label details before relying on a certification lookup.
A cert lookup confirms record details, not value. Compare recent completed sales for the exact card, grade, label version, and venue.
Use the serial number shown on the holder and copy it exactly into Beckett's Card Lookup.

Compare the returned card description, overall grade, and any visible subgrades with the holder in hand.
If a newer label has a QR code, confirm that it opens an expected Beckett destination. It is a convenience check, not proof by itself.
A mismatch or a holder that appears altered is a reason to pause, get clearer photos, and seek guidance from Beckett or the seller.
The same card graded by different companies often gets different numbers. Use this table to translate a BGS grade into its rough equivalent across PSA, BGS, CGC, SGC, and TAG.
| BGS | PSA | CGC | SGC | TAG (1000-pt) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BGS 9.5–10 (Pristine needs 50/50) | PSA 10 | CGC 9.5–10 Pristine | SGC 10 Pristine | 950–1000 |
| BGS 9 / 9.5 | PSA 9 | CGC 9 / 9.5 | SGC 9 / 9.5 | 875–949 |
| BGS 8 / 8.5 | PSA 8 | CGC 8.5 | SGC 8.5 | 800–874 |
| BGS 7 / 7.5 | PSA 7 | CGC 7.5 | SGC 8 | 700–799 |

| BGS 5 / 5.5 | PSA 5 | CGC 6 | SGC 6 | 500–599 |
