In short
CGC said on October 5, 2026 that it now grades trading card games full time at its Hong Kong office, with no additional fee, so TCG submissions no longer ship to Florida. Sports, non-sports and mixed orders still go to Sarasota. Split TCG cards into their own order if you want them graded locally.
What CGC announced
CGC said on October 5, 2026 that it is now certifying trading card games full time at its office in Hong Kong. TCG submissions will no longer be shipped to CGC headquarters in Florida.
CGC began grading cards at the Hong Kong office in May 2024. The full-time team is made up of graders relocated from other CGC operations plus locally trained staff, which CGC says keeps grading consistent with its global standards.
CGC also says nearly 20 million cards have been certified since its card grading service started in July 2020.
Which orders stay in Hong Kong
| Order type | Where it is graded |
|---|---|
| TCG only | Hong Kong office, no additional fee |
| Sports or non-sports cards | Shipped with insurance to Sarasota, Florida, then back to Hong Kong |
| Mixed: TCGs plus other cards | Shipped to Sarasota, like sports orders |
Rule: if you want local grading, keep TCG cards in their own order. A single sports card in the box sends the whole order to Florida.
Submissions can go through a CGC Authorized Dealer or directly to the Hong Kong office at The Gateway, Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui. CGC says office visits are by appointment only.

On-site grading continues
Separately, CGC will keep running on-site grading at trade shows in the region. The next one it names is the Asia Super Collectors Convention (ASCC) in Macau, October 9 to 11, 2026. CGC says show deadlines will be posted on its website and social accounts.
Why it matters
This is the third CGC access move in five weeks, after EB Games stores in Canada (our September 3 post) and 20 FYE stores in the US (our September 26 post). For collectors in Hong Kong, the change removes two international legs for TCG orders. For an overview of CGC’s services, see our CGC card grading guide.
